Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan the running and development of athletics coaching sessions within established procedures.
  • •Manage and develop a team of sprints, jumps and throws coaches.
  • •Recruit, select, and deliver the Athletics Team Scholarship programme and manage associated budgeting.
  • •Develop annual competition/event plans with targets for sport, squads, and individuals.
  • •Act as point of contact for Talent Hub & YTP athletes and coaches, and lead/manage University track and field competitions internally and externally.

Key Requirements

  • •Current UKA Athletics Coach Qualification (Level 2 or higher), specialised in sprints, jumps or throws.
  • •Extensive knowledge of HE/FE sporting landscape, competition structure, and BUCS / National Age Group competition rules and selection policies.
  • •Experience selecting, managing, and budgeting across relevant scholarship programmes.
  • •Proven experience mentoring coaches and athletes through programmes such as YTP, JTP or equivalent.
  • •Degree level education (or equivalent) and evidence of literacy/numeracy; DBS required.
