Key Responsibilities

  • •Build full-stack services supporting core operational workflows, including customer communication, underwriting, and collections.
  • •Simplify workflows by deciding what to automate and translating operational needs into reliable code that reduces manual effort.
  • •Modernise system architecture by identifying opportunities to evolve platforms while managing trade-offs for dependability at scale.
  • •Improve engineering practices by participating in code reviews and design sessions and advocating for quality and strong user experiences.
  • •Lead end-to-end projects by owning delivery from initial problem through stakeholder-aligned solution and daily rollout.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience designing and building backend systems using Python, working across front-end codebases (React or TypeScript) to deliver end-to-end projects.
  • •Use AI tools like Cursor or Claude Code in daily work to speed up boilerplate and research while handling complex architecture and high-stakes decisions.
  • •Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, including performance and maintainability considerations.
  • •Ability to anticipate technical challenges and improve existing systems that support complex workflows.
  • •Demonstrated delivery ownership: shape solutions, make trade-offs, and iterate based on how systems are used.
