Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the team responsible for architecting, building, and operating Reddit’s Notifications Platform/Foundation services.
  • •Set technical direction for shared platform capabilities spanning notification APIs, eventing/workflow orchestration, delivery pipelines, preferences, templates, experimentation, and observability.
  • •Collaborate with adjacent Notifications ML teams to build and productionize ML-powered notification systems with scalable operational foundations.
  • •Partner with product and engineering teams to define platform contracts, improve developer experience, and help teams launch notification experiences safely and efficiently.
  • •Drive the full development lifecycle and establish reliability, scalability, performance, privacy/security, and operational excellence practices across the platform.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years of experience building and managing engineering teams.
  • •5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Engineering Manager building and operating large-scale distributed systems or platform services.
  • •Deep understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, event-driven systems, and APIs in production (notification/messaging experience is a plus).
  • •Hands-on experience with highly available, low-latency services and operational excellence practices.
  • •Experience with cloud infrastructure, data storage, streaming or messaging systems, and observability tooling.
