Key Responsibilities

  • •Respond in a Tier 2 capacity with 24x7 monitoring, detection, triage, and incident response.
  • •Develop and improve CDU metrics and KPIs (e.g., MTTD, MTTR, alert volume/fidelity, coverage) and report program health to security leadership.
  • •Improve detection logic, playbooks, and automation in partnership with detection engineering and threat intelligence teams.
  • •Serve as an escalation point and incident commander for high-severity incidents, coordinating cross-functional response.
  • •Help select and drive adoption of CDU tooling (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, XDR, ticketing), manage MSSP/co-managed partners, and support compliance/audit requirements and runbooks/tabletops.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in security operations, incident response, or related security roles, including 2+ years in a people-management or team-lead capacity.
  • •Experience scaling a 24x7 CDU function (in-house, hybrid, or via MSSP oversight).
  • •Strong technical grounding in SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, network and cloud security monitoring, and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • •Proven incident response leadership for significant security events, coordinating with legal, communications, and executive stakeholders.
  • •Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining security talent, with strong communication that translates technical risk for non-technical leaders.
