Key Responsibilities

  • •Keep safety as the top priority while performing rotor shop machining.
  • •Read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • •Set machining controls (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut) and start/observe operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work.
  • •Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • •Complete manufacturing digital inspection forms and interact with peers, supervisors, and internal/external customers.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •10+ years of related experience in heavy tonnage parts machining (1 to 40 tons).
  • •Experience in cylindrical grinding and refurbishment of heavy-duty/high-tonnage rotors is required.
  • •Advanced skill with manual lathe, mill, and grinder (aligning, runouts, turning, and grinding).
  • •Ability to accurately use measuring instruments and read/interpret technical drawings and work instructions; qualification/certification on critical lifting (1 to 40 tons).
