Job Summary

Deliver process engineering design for wastewater and water reuse projects across the UK and overseas. Work in multidisciplinary teams from feasibility and optioneering through detailed designs for procurement and construction, and review supplier proposals. Produce and verify key process deliverables (calculations, mass balances, P&IDs, basis of design) attend site visits for data acquisition, and support procurement, client technical discussions, and HAZOP/HAZID/ENVID/SWIFT activities. Provide technical guidance to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Produce process design deliverables including optioneering studies, process calculations, mass balance, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, sketches, and basis of design reports.
•Undertake outline or detailed process engineering design for wastewater and water reuse projects.
•Attend site visits for data acquisition and meet site operators to inform process performance assessments.
•Provide technical input to procurement and support technical discussions with clients.
•Support HAZOP/HAZID/ENVID/SWIFT activities and provide technical guidance, coaching, and supervision of junior staff while working across disciplines.

Key Requirements

•Significant experience delivering process engineering design for infrastructure projects, including taking the lead process engineering role on a project or significant task.
•Experience in the municipal water industry.
•Ability to prepare and/or review process design deliverables including specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, process control philosophies, P&IDs, mass balances, and procurement documentation.
•Experience delivering feasibility, concept design, FEED, and detailed design for wastewater treatment solutions in municipal or industrial sectors (e.g., primary/secondary/tertiary treatments and advanced biological treatments).
•Understanding of circular economy and Zero Liquid Discharge, including emerging tertiary treatments in municipal and industrial contexts.
