Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the senior/lead regulatory lawyer for HSBC Bank plc’s Markets and Securities Services (MSS) division.
  • •Provide lead UK and EU law regulatory advice to MSS activities, interpreting and applying relevant frameworks.
  • •Advise on complex legal, conduct, reputational, and regulatory matters by identifying, escalating, reporting, and mitigating risks.
  • •Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and transaction documentation relevant to MSS while balancing commercial needs and risk controls.
  • •Support the Tokenisation, Digital Assets and Currencies strategy and brief senior legal leadership and business teams on legal/regulatory/market developments, including educating stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent) with 4–6 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • •Deep regulatory legal experience, ideally across Markets and Securities Services and UK/EU regulatory frameworks.
  • •Confident senior practitioner handling complex, non-standard legal, conduct, and reputational risk issues.
  • •Strong drafting and negotiation experience for commercial contracts and transaction documentation with sound commercial judgement.
