Key Responsibilities

  • •Improve real-time management and circulation of data and information to guide the cholera and other MAPEPI response.
  • •Create an inventory of standardized tools (paper and software) needed for epidemiological and biological surveillance data collection (alerts, investigations, laboratory, contacts).
  • •Train health-care providers and personnel in the intervention zone (ZS/DPS) on correct use of data collection and management tools, including maintaining a provider/focal-point mapping database.
  • •Support daily/weekly collection, maintenance, and sharing of key databases (alerts, IDSR, line lists of investigated/diagnosed cases, contact follow-up, and other relevant databases), and centralize case-by-case data for dashboard updates.
  • •Ensure data quality by cleaning and consistency checks; support epidemiologists with synthesis, analysis, epidemiological and geospatial information, and contribute to SitReps/bulletins and other information products.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in information/data management, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, public health, GIS, or another data-management related field from an accredited institute.
  • •At least two years of relevant experience in data and/or information management.
  • •Proficiency with data collection tools such as DHIS2 Tracker, Kobo/ODK, and Google Forms/ Microsoft Office forms.
  • •Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as MS Excel, R, Python, ArcGIS, Power BI, SPSS, and STATA.
  • •Proven skills in collecting, assessing, analyzing, and monitoring public-health data in emergency response contexts; excellent French and ability to work under time pressure.
