Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems, covering air-cooled/direct fluid cooled options, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy/maintainability, energy efficiency, and standards compliance.
  • •Select appropriate cooling systems and containment solutions (e.g., CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling) based on cooling requirements and equipment criticality.
  • •Perform internal and external CFD analysis to optimize airflow distribution, analyze transient periods and hotspots, and recommend design modifications while coordinating changes with other trades.
  • •Design for redundancy and fault tolerance, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems to support continuous operation.
  • •Calculate heat loads and plan HVAC capacity for current and future growth, and implement energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC design strategies; ensure air quality and filtration for sensitive IT equipment.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology (Uptime Institute), TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002.
  • •Preferred: master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management.
