Support regulatory and investor quality control for residential mortgage lending by performing comprehensive reviews of in-process and post-closing loans. Assess credit quality, compliance, collateral integrity, and documentation accuracy, including more complex underwriting for self-employed borrowers. Identify deficiencies, errors, and possible fraud, recommend remediation, and re-verify income, assets, and early payment default issues. Ensure adherence to operational risk controls and partner with auditors and regulators on control issues.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform detailed residential underwriting and compliance analysis for loans in-process and post-closing, covering credit, compliance, and documentation deficiencies and loan marketability.
•Complete targeted underwriting analysis for more complex mortgages, including self-employed borrowers.
•Identify areas requiring targeted review, recommend further testing, and perform target reviews in line with the Quality Control Policy.
•Identify and document deficiencies, errors, and fraud; recommend remediation actions; re-verify credit, income, and asset documentation to confirm compliance.
•Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls, report control weaknesses and breaches, and work with auditors and regulatory examiners on internal control issues.

Key Requirements

•Mortgage Quality Control and/or underwriting experience, with knowledge of mortgage systems.
•Strong mortgage business experience, including underwriting experience.
•Experience verifying income and assets; evaluating credit reports, purchase contracts, appraisals, title commitments, and other loan documentation.
•Proven communications, organizational, analytical, administrative, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to write clear, concise, supported findings and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
