Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare roadway lighting and traffic signal designs, including layouts, wiring diagrams, electrical details, and contract drawings.
  • •Perform electrical design calculations such as photometric analyses and voltage drop calculations.
  • •Develop technical specifications, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and contract documentation.
  • •Apply Ontario MTO standards and applicable industry codes to roadway lighting and traffic signal system design.
  • •Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders; conduct site visits and provide construction support as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 4 years of relevant roadway lighting and traffic signal engineering experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario with a minimum of 1 year of post-licensure experience.
  • •Demonstrated experience designing roadway lighting and traffic signal systems.
  • •Working knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) design standards (mandatory).
  • •Proficiency with AutoCAD and a valid Ontario driver’s licence; willingness to travel to project sites as required.
