Job Summary

Support NRG’s fleet of pumps and auxiliary equipment across the country by providing on-site field inspections, condition assessments, and run/repair/replace recommendations. Coordinate repairs with vendors, suppliers, and repair shops, and help develop and review quality plans while auditing supplier quality. Review equipment histories and manufacturer bulletins to build long-range maintenance plans, perform risk assessments and root-cause analysis, and prepare technical reports and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide on-site support for field inspections, condition assessments, and run/repair/replace recommendations for pumps and select auxiliary equipment.
•Evaluate component condition, repair options, and perform risk assessments for maintenance activities.
•Coordinate repair activities with vendors/contractors, other divisions, and departments; qualify vendors and suppliers.
•Perform field inspections and measurements; inspect completed work or work in progress to assure job quality.
•Perform root cause analysis, develop quality work plans and technical specifications, and prepare written reports and engineering calculations as needed.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline plus 5 years of experience in pump maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting.
•Fundamental knowledge of vibration analysis and balancing of rotating equipment.
•Fundamental knowledge of working materials and metallurgy of pumps and components.
•Knowledge of pump repair specifications (API).
•Strong understanding of mechanical systems and mechanical drawings; knowledge of machining principles and general welding processes.
