Job Summary

Assist the Asset Engineer with preventive and corrective maintenance for the Serco Palm Jumeirah Transit System. Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, replace faulty equipment, and support repair workflows. Perform functional tests, troubleshoot, and assemble/disassemble as needed across building services, depot equipment, signaling systems, MEPS, HVAC, and communication networks. Maintain tools and produce accurate maintenance records in line with Palm Monorail requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Asset Engineer with maintenance work to meet maintenance standards for the Serco Palm Jumeirah Transit System.
•Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and minor modifications on electrical, mechanical, and electronics components across building services, depot equipment, signaling system, MEPS, HVAC, and communication systems/networks.
•Diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions, replace faulty equipment, and hand over/take back units for electro-mechanical workshop repair.
•Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and assemble/disassemble tests; repair and replace defective parts across building services, rolling stock, communication systems, and signaling systems.
•Follow procedures/work instructions and maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment performance/work accomplished information.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of experience as a qualified mechanical, electrical, electronics, or building service technician maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical facilities.
•Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
•Working knowledge of repairing motors and pumps, relays, control units, wirings, bearings, belts, gearboxes, air handling units, chilled water systems, fire alarm panels, fire pumps, UPS, batteries, and diesel engines.
•Experience operating and interfacing with an infrastructure management system.
•Ability to use and calibrate electronics test equipment and PC, and write simple technical reports and method statements/drawings.
