Job Summary

Provide high-level technical assistance for transit and rail infrastructure projects, supporting due diligence through planning, design, permitting, and construction. Lead analysis of site and subsurface data (e.g., GIS, hydrologic and geotechnical inputs), develop construction plans/specifications/cost estimates, and ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. Coordinate cross-functional teams, review infrastructure design plans for code compliance, and prepare technical reports, visualizations, and risk mitigation inputs.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze physical site and survey data (including GIS, subsurface utilities, hydrologic and geotechnical inputs) for project development and construction.
•Apply transit and rail engineering techniques across concept, preliminary/final design, procurement, construction, and operation to identify improvements.
•Conduct inspections and investigations to assess conformance with applicable rules, standards, and permits.
•Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, including safety and phasing plans and updated infrastructure layout plans with stakeholder coordination.
•Coordinate and oversee engineering teams, review/approve design plans for code compliance, and prepare technical reports and presentations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
•7 to 10 years of relevant post-education engineering experience with transit and rail experience.
•Engineer license required.
•Proficiency in transit and rail engineering principles and design/build on major infrastructure projects (railway civil works, stations, bridges, elevated structures).
•Knowledge of track/station/layover facility civil engineering and FRA/FTA/CPUC/AREMA (or similar) regulatory standards, codes, compliance, and record-keeping.
