Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, substantiate, and issue repairs/approvals for discrepancies outside existing published limits.
  • •Provide engineering work scope for troubleshooting operational issues to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • •Read and interpret Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) information to provide corrective actions to maintenance.
  • •Create American Airlines Repair Documents (AARD) for recurring aircraft discrepancies.
  • •Support field troubleshooting and major damage assessment, including assisting with temporary repair development and issuing inspection Engineering Authorizations for urgent safety/compliance issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • •2 years of working history as an Engineer with aviation experience.
  • •Familiarity with CFRs and aircraft maintenance documentation such as Engine Manual (EM), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Fault Isolation Manual (FIM), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), and Wiring Diagrams (WDM).
  • •Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • •Ability to prioritize workload, substantiate solutions using engineering analytical principles, and document and communicate solutions throughout the maintenance organization.
