Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end payroll processing for US employees in Rippling across 30+ states, including bi-weekly and off-cycle runs covering bonuses, commissions, relocation, deductions, garnishments, and final pay.
  • •Deliver international payroll for global EOR populations by coordinating with Rippling, Deel, and local providers to ensure accurate, on-time, compliant payments.
  • •Manage payroll tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, including registrations, withholding/unemployment accounts, filings, amendments, and agency notice resolution.
  • •Own payroll accounting activities such as journal entries and payroll-related balance sheet reconciliation, supporting month/quarter/year-end close alongside Accounting.
  • •Design and maintain payroll controls and procedures, lead year-end processing (including W-2 production and corrections), and serve as the primary liaison for state and workers’ compensation audits and external audit needs.

Key Requirements

  • •Full-cycle payroll ownership with 8+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including US multi-state payroll and at least 2 years as the most senior payroll person or leading a payroll team.
  • •Direct experience administering payroll in Rippling, including configuring and troubleshooting the platform for EOR populations.
  • •US multi-state tax knowledge, including nexus determination, reciprocity, SUI/SDI, supplemental withholding, local levies, and agency management.
  • •International and EOR payroll fluency managing payroll through EOR and local provider models.
  • •Equity payroll readiness and payroll accounting fundamentals, including RSU/option withholding treatment and GL/balance sheet reconciliation for month/quarter/year close.
