Job Summary

Build scalable data models and pipelines for analytics, experimentation, and decision-making across Coinbase. Own end-to-end domain data solutions that turn complex data flows into trusted, reusable frameworks. •Own end-to-end data modeling for assigned business domains, designing modular, reusable star/snowflake schema models as a single source of truth.
•Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt and Airflow to ensure data quality, reliability, and performance at scale across Snowflake or similar warehouses.
•Partner with Engineering, Product, and Data Science to identify data gaps, define requirements, and deliver data products for experimentation and metric optimization.
•Develop scalable abstractions and frameworks (UDFs, Python packages, internal data apps) to improve other teams’ efficiency and reduce time-to-insight.
•Design and deliver dashboards and visualization layers using Looker or Tableau to provide clear, actionable views for cross-functional stakeholders.

Salary: USD 180,370 - 212,200 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years in analytics engineering or data engineering designing modular data models and production ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt and Airflow (or similar).
•Advanced SQL for complex transformations and query optimization, plus intermediate-to-advanced Python for scripting, automation, and scalable frameworks (OOP experience preferred).
•Production experience with modern data warehouse architectures such as Snowflake or Databricks, including performance tuning, data quality monitoring, and version-controlled workflows (GitHub, CI/CD).
•Demonstrated ability to deliver data solutions that generated measurable business impact, including independently building domain expertise and communicating technical trade-offs.
•Experience with prompt engineering for LLMs (e.g., GPT) and responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for business-ready outputs.
