Job Summary

Lead the planning and delivery of ecological inputs for internal and external clients within AECOM’s Nature team. Produce and technically review a range of ecological assessments, lead consultation with planning authorities and statutory bodies, and support pragmatic technical solutions. Play a key role in bids and tenders, mentor junior staff, and help develop the team’s technical capabilities with innovation, research, and biodiversity net gain expertise.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead planning and delivery of ecological inputs for internal and external clients.
•Produce and technically review ecological assessments including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Habitats Regulations Assessment, and Biodiversity Net Gain Calculations.
•Provide technical leadership for proportionate and pragmatic ecological solutions.
•Lead consultation and engagement with clients and stakeholders, including planning authorities, statutory bodies, and the public.
•Lead production of bids and tenders for ecological services and mentor junior staff and peers.

Key Requirements

•Demonstratable experience planning and delivering ecological services on projects in the UK or Ireland.
•Well-developed understanding of relevant wildlife conservation.
•Membership of an appropriate professional institution and evidence of working towards Chartership (such as CIEEM or related).
•Excellent field skills in at least one specialist area, including protected species licences.
•Proactive approach to Health and Safety, with experience mentoring and supporting ecology team members.
