Power hardware engineer developing reliable power solutions for Cisco networking products, spanning 10W IP phones to 3000W data centers and service provider gear. Lead system power design, qualification, testing, design reviews, and failure analyses, collaborating across Hardware, ASIC, EMI/EMC, and Mechanical teams to ensure regulatory and quality targets.

Job Function: Hardware, Embedded & Systems Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and qualify system power to meet the power requirements of new products.
•Develop and execute test plans for upcoming power designs and document procedures, plans, and specifications used by the Power team.
•Assist in the resolution of power-related field/product issues for assigned projects.
•Engage with power supply vendors to develop power supply that meets Cisco Quality requirement and timeline.
•Perform design reviews of schematics, BOMs, layout and routing.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or power electronics with 6+ years of experience or a Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or Power electronics with 4+ years of experience or PhD with 1+ years of related experience.
•Experience with power design or power electronics or analog design.
•Experience with power design topologies such as buck, buck-boost, and design for highest efficiency.
•Experience with tools: Concept, Allegro, LTspice, PSpice, Simplis, Mathcad, PowerDC, SIWave, Ansys or Hyperlynx.
•Knowledge of board-mounted and front-end power hardware design and solving complex analog/power design problems.
