Job Summary

Join the Careers Network Student Engagement team as a Digital Experience Assistant. You’ll represent the service, engage with fellow students and signpost careers resources, answer queries from initial contact to resolution (referring where needed), and help support campus events. You’ll also assist with web editing, review and quality-check digital content across Careers Connect and related platforms, and share feedback at monthly team meetings.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as an ambassador and source of student insight for Careers Network.
•Develop knowledge of Careers Network support, resources, and opportunities to guide students and boost career-readiness.
•Understand students’ key employability questions, skills, needs, and challenges.
•Provide relevant, timely information to students, staff, and external providers; answer queries and resolve issues or refer when needed.
•Assist with web editing and review/quality-check Careers Network digital content, including Careers Connect and webpages, and share feedback at monthly team meetings.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 14.27 hourly

Key Requirements

•Must be a current student at the University of Birmingham (any level of study or degree discipline) through the academic year 2026/27.
•Demonstrable interest in and understanding of careers and employability, and/or personal and professional development.
•Excellent written and oral communication, with the ability to adapt to different groups.
•Proficient IT skills, able to learn new systems, with knowledge of MS 365 (including database management systems) and Excel.
•Excellent time management, organisation, and decision-making skills.
