Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full range of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and provide referral resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Develop and distribute informational financial materials and coordinate/publicize Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Work with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to ensure the program stays within scope and meets installation needs.
  • •Use virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes when authorized, manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol, and participate in supervision and in-services/training.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (associate degree + 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma + 6 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract).
  • •Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
  • •Hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
