Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and operate core billing platform services for Twilio customers, supporting billing lifecycle and payment experiences.
  • •Improve and ship new platform features and new services from scratch, working on control plane, billing experience, and account lifecycle management.
  • •Leverage communication skills to explain solution rationale and align with team priorities and customer impact.
  • •Troubleshoot and fix operational issues, improving troubleshooting procedures and tools as needed.
  • •Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including writing testable code, documentation, flowcharts, and maintaining software functionality.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building highly scalable products and 5+ years programming in an object-oriented language (Java or similar) with clean code practices.
  • •Expert object-oriented programming and experience contributing to architecture and design (design patterns, reliability, scaling) for new and current systems.
  • •Experience working with product requirements and defining technical work, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • •Experience with relational and non-relational databases and delivering strong observability (e.g., Grafana, DataDog, Prometheus).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent work experience, plus familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, and testing/automation.
