Key Responsibilities

  • •Underwrite new and renewal Liability accounts to meet top and bottom line targets, including negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
  • •Underwrite international insurance programs for relevant LoBs and proactively manage capacity.
  • •Ensure underwriting is aligned to LoB governance (e.g., underwriting authorities, underwriting guidelines/rules/principles) and achieve contract certainty at inception.
  • •Oversee policy documentation and administration activities, including file maintenance and supporting policy administration and credit control processes.
  • •Support regional underwriting strategy and market management initiatives, including broker/client negotiations and training/coaching junior staff.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven track record underwriting profitable business in the Liability line of business (LoB), with an understanding of LoB products and portfolios in the Pharmaceutical sector preferred.
  • •Established broker relationships at peer-group level and within the market.
  • •Good understanding of regional/local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape.
  • •Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework for underwriting.
  • •Preferably a degree in Business Management, Actuarial, Insurance/Risk Management (or related), plus completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII).
