Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspection activities and related structural engineering work for concurrent projects.
  • •Perform professional structural engineering inspections and structural inspection-related field work, including supporting research and preliminary calculations.
  • •Assist in preparing Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
  • •Develop plans/sketches using MicroStation, Visio, and AutoCAD and maintain project documentation.
  • •Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers and support cost proposals and scope of work documents.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • •Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification via an FHWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training course.
  • •7+ years of experience in bridge, tunnel, and/or ancillary inspection or design, or other infrastructure-related work.
  • •NHI Course 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Certificate (and NHI Course 130053 refresher, if required).
  • •PE license (or ability to obtain it promptly) and prior experience with WMATA.
