Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct advanced bridge and roadway construction inspection, including materials sampling, inspection, and testing
  • •Support engineers with construction activity management on large, complex bridge projects
  • •Lead complex inspections and supervise routine inspections performed by lower-level inspectors
  • •Perform contract administration duties, including field measurements of pay items and required documentation
  • •Maintain field documentation (daily inspection reports, photographic records, quality assurance logs) and coordinate with contractors and engineers to resolve construction issues

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma plus 6 years of experience (or demonstrated equivalency) in bridge/roadway construction inspection and related work
  • •US citizenship is required for the nature of the work
  • •Valid US driver’s license is required and candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
  • •Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management (4-year curriculum) plus five years of progressive transportation technician experience is preferred
  • •Thorough knowledge of bridge/highway specifications and standards, and ability to read bridge plans and related project documents is required
