Job Summary

Architect and design the next generation data platform for Landmark, owning the data platform architecture across subsystems, including data isolation, residency, and security alignment. Represent the data platform in Landmark’s architecture community, review application architectures, and partner with the Chief Architect to ensure proper adoption and best practices, influencing multiple product teams and security/compliance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and maintain the architecture for Landmark’s data platform layer, including architecture diagrams, documentation and architectural decision records.
•Partner with Landmark’s security team to ensure the data platform architecture satisfies security requirements and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, regulated-site certification standards, enterprise security policy).
•Define architectural patterns for tenant data isolation and data residency.
•Work with architects in domain application teams to explain the proper use of the data platform and review application architectures to verify usage.
•Serve as the data platform representative in Landmark’s architecture community.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
•10+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant time spent on data layers (relational and unstructured data, data virtualization and federation, ETL, lake houses, medallion architectures).
•Demonstrated track record of defining architectures at a platform level.
•Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce architectural specifications, decision records, and interface contracts.
•Experience with at least one of AWS or Azure, their database offerings, and services such as object storage and Kubernetes.
