Drive day-to-day operational effectiveness for a steel recycling facility by leading H&S and environmental compliance, quality control, maintenance, and accurate material inventory management. Coordinate inter-yard transportation and ensure volume quotas are met through close collaboration with commercial and transportation teams. Forecast production, oversee production/maintenance performance, operate within operating and CAPEX budgets, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while supervising facility teams.

•Ensure environmental and health & safety compliance, monitor programs, and instruct corrective action after incidents.
•Oversee operations and maintenance across departments to meet negotiated production levels and facility goals.
•Manage material inventories and quality control, ensuring timely shipment/transfer and compliance with internal controls (including SOX).
•Forecast monthly production in partnership with the General Manager and commercial group and spearhead continuous improvement.
•Operate within operating and CAPEX budgets and make capital expenditure recommendations based on equipment condition and operational needs.

Key Requirements

•5-10 years of experience in steel scrap yard operations with familiarity with physical operations and personnel.

•Have intermediate computer competency to support operational work.
•College degree preferred, and project management experience or specialized knowledge is a plus.
