Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, implement, and maintain internal and public-facing APIs across Supabase products, including Studio, CLI, management APIs, and OAuth applications.
  • •Integrate with third-party platforms and partners via custom integrations or clear API points for external connections.
  • •Collaborate with teams across Supabase (including DevOps and Frontend) to ensure API functionality integrates smoothly across the platform.
  • •Build and enhance testing, debugging, and monitoring tools to improve the stability, reliability, and performance of public APIs.
  • •Work with the dev-workflows team to enhance the Branching experience for Supabase users.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of backend API development with strong TypeScript and JavaScript (Node.js), plus experience with frameworks like Nest.js, Express, Vitest, and Zod.
  • •Experience designing robust, scalable, maintainable APIs with pagination, versioning, and strong error-handling practices.
  • •Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, and API security best practices such as rate limiting and CORS (OAuth/JWT experience is a plus).
  • •Good understanding of PostgreSQL and relational databases.
  • •Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerized deployments for API development, testing, and releases.
