Key Responsibilities

  • •Create textures for environments and props using photographic references, digital hand-painted techniques, existing texture assets, and procedural workflows.
  • •Paint stylized textures based on concept art while maintaining the show’s visual style using Substance 3D Painter and Photoshop.
  • •Create procedural textures using Substance 3D Designer.
  • •Author and modify materials using standard shading workflows within the production’s established rendering tools.
  • •Collaborate with the Environment Surfacing team and other departments, communicating questions, progress, and potential issues to the appropriate team members.

Key Requirements

  • •0–2 years of experience in VFX, animation, or related industries.
  • •Recent graduates or candidates with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant artistic and/or technical skills may be considered.
  • •Basic knowledge of UV creation/layout and physically based shading concepts (albedo, reflection, refraction, roughness, subsurface scattering).
  • •Familiarity with Substance 3D Painter and Substance 3D Designer (and/or Mari) and ability to paint stylized textures to match concept art and the show’s style.
  • •Medium English level required; Spanish is desirable.
