Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and extend core ledger components, including accounts, postings, and ledger structures used by financial products.
  • •Own the chart-of-accounts and reporting surfaces that connect engineering data to financial statements and downstream reporting.
  • •Bridge on-chain data with off-chain books through balance verification, reconciliation, and proof-of-reserve style mechanisms.
  • •Partner with engineering teams early to ensure new features model legal entity ownership, ledger placement, pricing, and reconciliation paths before release.
  • •Design data models to support new financial products (e.g., margin, lending, staking, tokenized assets) without repeated painful migrations.

Key Requirements

  • •Real working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including double-entry bookkeeping, chart-of-accounts design, financial statements, and reconciliation/audit requirements.
  • •5+ years of backend software engineering experience, including ownership of data-model design where correctness is the key product attribute.
  • •Strong system design instincts for extensible schemas and APIs that reduce rework as requirements evolve.
  • •Ability to read and critique technical designs across multiple systems, not only implement your own.
