Key Responsibilities

  • •Create detailed plans, specifications, and mechanical designs/derivatives for XL-AUVs.
  • •Develop and prototype complex structures and mechanisms; run simulation and analysis (including modal/spectral response).
  • •Ensure designs meet internal and external maritime standards and inspect parts/sub-systems for compliance.
  • •Act as a subject matter expert and technical owner across part design, material selection, assemblies, and design-to-evolution planning.
  • •Support manufacturing, testing, and deployment including DVT of parts/sub-systems; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Naval Architecture, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • •Professional experience working as a Mechanical Engineer with one or more mechanical engineering domains/technologies.
  • •Ability to work holistically across design, implementation, operation, and sustainment of complex mechanical systems and structures.
  • •Ability to act as a technical owner for complex structural components and assemblies, including requirements definition and roadmap management.
  • •Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
