Key Responsibilities

  • •Support bids and tenders by developing fee estimates and producing discipline-specific proposal content.
  • •Lead production of telecoms system technology designs for rail infrastructure across all stages from feasibility to detailed design and handback.
  • •Collaborate in multi-discipline design teams by managing telecoms interface requirements and communicating impacts to the wider project design.
  • •Provide line management for team members, including supporting staff training and development.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in an electronic or communications discipline, ideally with chartered membership of a professional body.
  • •Proven track record providing project and technical leadership, including stakeholder management and relationship/team management skills.
  • •Extensive experience leading, producing and checking telecommunications and control systems designs through the design and construction cycle for UK projects (and potentially overseas).
  • •Detailed knowledge integrating two or more: structured cabling (copper/fibre), IP networking (routing/switching/virtualisation/storage), IP-CCTV, EN54 public address/voice alarm, ISMS/IBMS, SCADA, CIS, wireless network architecture, VOIP, mobile telephony/radio, trackside telecoms, or FTN/FTNx.
  • •CRE (or equivalent) experience for Network Rail/HS2/TfL and working knowledge of Network Rail, TfL & LUL standards is advantageous.
