Job Summary

Transform complex civil and environmental concepts into constructible design packages. Interpret survey and field inputs to create accurate drawings, and develop advanced Civil 3D models to support infrastructure layouts. Lead drafting and design components on multidisciplinary projects while following WSP CAD standards and quality processes. Collaborate with engineers and project managers and mentor junior and intermediate designers, integrating WSP Life‑Saving Rules into daily office and field work.

Key Responsibilities

•Interpret topographic survey data, field notes, and engineering inputs to produce accurate, high-quality civil design drawings.
•Develop and manage advanced Civil 3D models to support design analysis and infrastructure layouts.
•Lead drafting and design components on large, multidisciplinary projects while ensuring compliance with WSP CAD standards and quality processes.
•Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver complete, coordinated design packages.
•Mentor junior and intermediate designers and integrate WSP’s Life-Saving Rules into daily work, prioritizing safety in office and field environments.

Key Requirements

•Diploma or CAD certificate with 8+ years of civil, environmental, or related drafting/design experience.
•Minimum 8 years of hands-on Civil 3D experience with a strong commitment to CAD standards and quality control.
•Proven ability to prepare complete drawing packages using survey data, client information, and field notes with minimal supervision.
•Strong analytical skills, including advanced calculations and data manipulation in Excel to support engineering workflows.
•Experience with additional tools such as Plant 3D, Revit, ReCap, Vulcan, MinePlan, Global Mapper, Surfer, gINT, OpenGround, MicroStation, or Autodesk Construction Cloud is considered an asset.
