Support a fast-growing defense technology company by providing legal counsel across the acquisitions lifecycle for US Government and international contracts. Work with procurement offices, help capture and grow government deals, and oversee proposals, negotiations, compliance, and performance risk. Handle matters including license and services agreements, bid protests and litigation, deal-related IP, and data rights, while collaborating with Business Development, Proposal, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a key member of a small, dynamic legal team.
•Execute and support government contract capture and growth, including follow-on opportunities and new business strategy.
•Manage relationships with procurement office representatives at government agencies.
•Provide legal counsel and day-to-day management across the acquisitions lifecycle, including proposals, contract monitoring, negotiations, and compliance.
•Handle legal matters spanning license/services agreements, bid protests and litigation, deal-related IP, compliance, and employment matters.

Travel: Medium travel

Salary: USD 191,000 - 253,000 annually

Key Requirements

•4+ years working on US Government or international contracts matters, ideally with law firm or in-house government contractor experience.
•Strong understanding of the government procurement process, including contract vehicles/types, CAS coverage, software acquisition approaches, and data rights.
•Ability to own multiple end-to-end projects and handle unexpected legal issues in defense or startup environments.
•Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
•Licensed to practice law in CA, DC, OH, or VA, and must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
