Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, delivering loads safely and timely while obeying traffic and safety regulations.
  • •Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and routine vehicle checks; report maintenance issues to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • •Maintain required regulatory logs and paperwork (e.g., ELD logs, shipping bills of lading, invoices) and deliver documentation as routes are completed.
  • •Load and unload equipment/materials by following loading crew signals and loading lists, using specialized equipment when warranted.
  • •Support yard operations: organize trailers for efficient loading, assist with staging/transfers and inventory control, help maintain a safe and clean yard/building standards, and assist customers while in the yard.

Key Requirements

  • •Possess and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or chauffeur’s license required by state regulations for the vehicle operated.
  • •Pass and maintain background and drug testing required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, and maintain a DOT physical since trucks are over 10,000 lbs.
  • •Ability to operate a forklift and a straight truck, including managing yard loading/unloading tasks and maneuvering trailers into loading areas.
  • •Working knowledge of and ability to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintain DOT-related logs (including ELD).
  • •Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak professionally at delivery points and remain focused in a busy environment.
