Job Summary

Develop and advance industrial applications for polyolefin resins, supporting Equistar’s polyethylene, polypropylene, and Specialties businesses. Gather market intelligence, design new packaging structures, and provide critical application development direction for targeted healthcare, food packaging, and infrastructure markets. Act as a technical expert across R&D and align with Industrial Market Management and Sales, translating strategy into objectives, tools/process improvements, and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive application development for industrial market segments by leveraging deep technical knowledge of applications and technologies.
•Translate long-term company strategy into objectives and action plans, including resource/equipment selection and allocation.
•Provide strategic leadership for tools, systems, and processes that improve technical service, application development, and project management effectiveness.
•Act as a technical expert for targeted markets, directing other R&D groups and collaborating with the Industrial Market Manager and Sales.
•Lead teamwork and collaboration, including developing direct reports through hiring and training efforts.

Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

•BS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Polymer Science & Engineering, or Chemistry (MS preferred).
•8-10+ years of industry experience with polyolefin resins used in targeted applications.
•General knowledge of HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE and PP resin technologies with a business/market focus.
•Preferred experience in PP/PE film, blow molding, or injection molding industries.
•Ability to provide strong leadership and influence stakeholders across functions and targeted markets.
