Job Summary

Lead instrumentation and controls engineering for mining and heavy industrial projects across the full lifecycle, from concept studies and detailed design through commissioning and operational optimization. Serve as the senior subject matter expert, shaping control philosophy, system architecture, and functional specifications while partnering with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions. Drive innovation with automation, digitalization, and control technologies, while providing technical leadership, mentoring, and quality reviews and ensuring safety, regulatory, and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design and serve as the senior subject matter expert on instrumentation and control systems for mining and heavy industrial facilities.
•Oversee control philosophy, system architecture, and functional specifications for complex process systems.
•Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to ensure fully integrated project solutions.
•Drive innovation by applying advanced automation, digitalization, and control technologies.
•Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality reviews across project teams through concept, commissioning, and operational optimization.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 122,100 - 179,100 annually

Key Requirements

•At least 18+ years of electrical engineering design experience supporting heavy industrial facilities.
•Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline.
•Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Canada.
•Extensive experience leading and delivering instrumentation and controls engineering within mining or heavy industrial sectors.
•Strong expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and process automation platforms, including commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
