Job Summary

Join the Baker Hughes Americas BRUSH team to install, commission, repair, maintain, and upgrade large rotating electrical machines and their control equipment. As an Americas Field Service Electrical/Controls Engineer, you’ll commission and upgrade HV generators, motors, synchronous condensers, power management systems, protection systems, and excitation controllers, perform electrical testing in the field, interpret technical drawings, conduct training, and support clients and colleagues while working overseas/offshore as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Commission HV generators, motors, synchronous condensers, power management systems (PMS), electrical protection systems, excitation controllers (AVRs), and synchronising equipment.
•Conduct upgrades to AVRs, PMS systems, synchronisers, protection relays, and other control elements.
•Carry out electrical testing on high/low voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
•Deliver training on Brush Power Gen products to clients and field service colleagues.
•Interpret technical drawings/specifications, attend technical meetings on site, and prepare method statements and risk assessments as needed.

Key Requirements

•Have an accredited Electrical or Controls qualification or relevant experience.
•Knowledge of networking systems such as Modbus, Ethernet, 61850, and Fibre (advantage).
•Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment concepts, practices, and procedures.
•Have undergone medical examinations to certify physical fitness for offshore and overseas work.
•Ability to communicate effectively in fluent spoken and written English and work independently while engaging external stakeholders on site.
