Key Responsibilities

  • •Troubleshoot network equipment, remove/replace defective equipment, and coordinate to isolate and restore service.
  • •Perform installation/change/decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies including edge compute, wavelength services, fiber optic transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP layers.
  • •Install and test network and customer equipment (CPE), including delivery of end-user services, and support other personnel as needed.
  • •Handle AC/DC power installs (including tertiary and BDCBB), large Netbuild management duties, and underground outside plant locating/marking/protection.
  • •Maintain asset management processes and level 1 preventive maintenance/inspections on network and critical infrastructure equipment; update and report inventory and activity records.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years installing, testing, and turning up telecommunications equipment including SONET, DCS, DWDM, routers, and switches.
  • •Strong technical and mechanical background with latest generation transport gear and critical infrastructure (HVAC, high-voltage electrical systems, DC power plants).
  • •Experience in at least two disciplines: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), or Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, mass fusion splicing).
  • •PC skills with Microsoft Windows and Office, plus ability to learn corporate databases.
  • •Valid driver’s license, attention to detail, ability to work in all weather conditions, and on-call availability for 24x7 rotational standby.
