Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate with U.S. government, donor, foreign government, and public stakeholders on ACE’s role, funding priorities, and tracking of foreign assistance.
  • •Serve as liaison for planning, formulation, tracking, and negotiations across foreign assistance areas including democracy and governance, security, economic/energy, cybersecurity, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • •Chair, lead, or back up functional area working groups and support ACE’s Annual Budget Reviews tied to functional areas such as rule of law and cybersecurity.
  • •Draft and clear official materials, including Congressional Notifications and other briefing/paperwork, on amounts, purposes, justifications, outcomes, and challenges of foreign assistance.
  • •Represent ACE at strategy, planning, and relevant meetings and help coordinate program strategy and implementation among multiple U.S. agencies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree (in a related field) and/or 3–5 years’ experience as a subject matter expert/coordinator in international subject matter areas.
  • •3–5 years’ experience in sectors such as democracy assistance (civil society, governance, judicial reform, anticorruption, independent media) and related foreign assistance areas.
  • •Understanding of U.S. foreign policy goals and objectives as they relate to U.S. foreign assistance in the region.
  • •Expert knowledge of rules, responsibilities, and interagency/bureau relationships for developing democracy assistance strategies and allocating resources.
  • •Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
