Manage shop operations, inventory, maintenance, and safety while guiding a diverse team of CAM programmers, machinists, and technicians. Enable engineers to design and iterate rapidly by removing bottlenecks and enforcing processes in a fast-paced robotics R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee daily R&D shop operations, optimizing workflow to achieve a two-day turnaround for prototype parts.
•Implement and enforce a centralized ticketing system for machining requests, track jobs, and monitor queue health.
•Assess incoming work and delegate tasks, directing CAM programming to specialists and quick secondary operations to junior staff to maximize CNC uptime.
•Partner with engineering teams, provide status updates, and manage shop logistics to avoid burdening engineers.

Key Requirements

•7-10+ years of hands-on experience in precision machining, CNC programming, and fabrication.
•3-5+ years in a leadership, management, or shop foreman role.
•Proven experience working in an R&D, rapid prototyping, or aerospace/robotics environment.
•Degree, technical diploma, or equivalent journeyman certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
