Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze Department of War operations, plans, and strategies to support mission planning and decision-making.
  • •Assess the effectiveness of Geographic Combatant Commands’ overseas contingency plans and support contingency planning working groups for CT and C-VEO efforts.
  • •Lead and support regional, trans-regional, and crisis action planning efforts for GCCs and USFK SOF requirements.
  • •Facilitate and lead USSOCOM responsibilities for coordinating authority in support of the Global Campaign Plan-Violent Extremist Organizations (GCP-V) and support Global Special Operations Synchronization (GSOS).
  • •Update the Global Special Operations Synchronization Process (GSOS) and lead planning, development, and integration of new capabilities for future and current operations.

Key Requirements

  • •3 years of experience in strategic-level planning (operational design, military decision-making process, contingency plan development).
  • •Completed a Joint Staff, combatant command, or multi-national staff tour.
  • •Graduate of a Joint Professional Military Education course (Intermediate or Senior Professional Military Education).
  • •5 years of experience using written and oral communication to produce products for senior leaders and communicate professionally at all levels.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Management, Program Management, Operations Research, Economics, or Social Sciences).
