Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide guidance on collecting, compiling, and analyzing site and design data (surveys, plans, GIS, maps) for traffic project development and construction.
  • •Apply traffic engineering techniques across project phases from concept through operation, including work zone maintenance of traffic and safety planning.
  • •Conduct investigations and inspections of roadways, intersections, roadside safety measures, signing, signals, pavement markings, and transportation corridors for conformance to standards and permits.
  • •Oversee and monitor cross-functional engineering/planning teams to execute mid-level and/or concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking, calculations, permit applications, and compliance documentation.
  • •Coordinate, review, and approve traffic design plans; prepare reports, presentations, models, and HASPs; and work as a trusted advisor with clients and regulatory agencies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • •7 to 10 years of relevant post-education engineering experience with traffic design experience.
  • •Valid Driver’s License.
  • •Proficient, extensive knowledge of traffic engineering principles and design/build for preliminary and final design, including capacity and operational analysis.
  • •Highly proficient in traffic standards and guidelines (e.g., MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO Green Book, NACTO Design Guides) and technical writing, with tools such as AutoCAD and spreadsheets.
