Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the Sandvik D25K drill rig to drill blast holes according to drilling plan patterns and depths.
  • •Carry out pre-start inspections and routine maintenance to ensure the rig is in optimal condition each shift.
  • •Drill blast holes accurately to required depth, diameter, and spacing, following the drilling plan.
  • •Apply drilling techniques including collaring, production drilling, pre-splitting, and adapting to varying ground conditions.
  • •Follow safety procedures and maintain site cleanliness; coordinate with blasters and other drillers, monitor equipment performance, and maintain accurate drilling records.

Key Requirements

  • •Full Grade 12 certificate certified by ZAQA.
  • •Technical training or certification in drilling is an advantage.
  • •Minimum 3 years of experience operating the Sandvik D25K (or similar) in an open-pit mining environment.
  • •Experience operating the Epiroc Smart Rock T45 and Epiroc Pit Viper is an added advantage.
  • •Familiarity with HP drilling systems is required.
