Key Responsibilities

•Lead research for hardware within product teams; connect with customers via interviews, usability studies and field research to ensure building the right things.
•Master a mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies across hardware and software contexts; maintain high quality while uncovering deep user needs.
•Empower the team by guiding cross-functional teams in creating research plans, mentoring designers and sharing best practices.
•Leverage modern tools and AI to speed up synthesis and pattern recognition, shortening the feedback loop to product direction.
•Collaborate with Product Managers and designers; present findings through compelling storytelling and clear metrics.

Salary: USD 112,000 - 187,000 annually

•Experienced: five or more years as a design researcher in tech environments with a proven track record connecting insights to design outcomes.
•Insight-drive direction: ability to extract critical contextual information about users, environments and tasks; ensure insights address product obstacles and inform design decisions.
•AI-fluent: experience using AI-assisted research tools to accelerate delivery without sacrificing rigor and quality.
•A strong communicator: excellent visualization and storytelling skills to make complex data accessible to diverse audiences.
•Mobile: willingness to travel up to 20% of the time domestically and internationally; hardware background across hardware, software, consumer electronics and/or hard goods.
