Job Summary

Operate and improve large-scale Ethernet fabrics that power GPU clusters, storage systems, and management infrastructure across OpenAI’s AI network. You’ll monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production network incidents to meet SLOs, execute safe changes and maintenance, and drive RCA-driven corrective actions. Partner with network architecture, engineering teams, and hardware and colocation providers to enhance observability, automate operational toil with Python, and raise reliability for training and inference workloads.

Key Responsibilities

•Own operational health, availability, and reliability of production AI network infrastructure across first-party and third-party data centers.
•Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents to meet SLOs, reducing MTTD and minimizing MTTR.
•Operate and maintain large-scale Ethernet fabrics supporting GPU compute, storage, and management networks.
•Execute production network changes, maintenance windows, and capacity expansions with minimal customer impact.
•Build and maintain monitoring/telemetry, and automate repetitive operational tasks using Python while performing RCA and driving permanent corrective actions.

Salary: USD 157,000 - 221,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years operating large-scale data center, cloud, AI, or HPC network infrastructure in production environments with high-availability requirements.
•Hands-on experience with Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, NVIDIA Spectrum/Cumulus Linux, or Juniper JunOS.
•Strong Layer 2/Layer 3 networking knowledge including BGP, OSPF, ECMP, MLAG, LACP, VRFs, and VLANs.
•Ability to troubleshoot physical infrastructure such as fiber optics, transceivers, DAC/AOC cables, and high-speed Ethernet links.
•Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, including communicating technical risk clearly across teams.
