Hands-on test engineering role designing, building, and scaling production test equipment and automation for Starship wire harnesses. You will develop test methods to ensure extreme reuse, drive root-cause analysis, and expand test capacity to support thousands of vehicles/year, working across electrical, mechanical, and software domains with real hardware impacting flight-worthy harnesses.

Job Function: QA, Test & Release Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop production test equipment, test racks, and automation systems to verify wire harnesses and electromechanical assembly quality at scale
•Define and validate test methods that ensure harnesses meet extreme reuse requirements while remaining flight-worthy, while driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions on test failures
•Scale test capacity and throughput to support production rates of thousands of vehicles per year and own the transition of new test capabilities into sustained production use
•Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure test systems integrate with production and vehicle integration
•Document, troubleshoot, and iterate on test processes to improve reliability and efficiency

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering
•1+ years of experience in design, manufacturing, and/or production of mechanical, electrical, or fluids systems (internship and collegiate extracurricular engineering project experience qualifies)
•3+ years of professional experience in high-rate design and/or production of mechanical or electronics hardware systems
•Experience designing or building custom test equipment or automated test systems
•Experience with wire harness electrical testing methods, including continuity, dielectric withstanding voltage (DWV), insulation resistance, low-resistance testing, capacitance, and high-speed data testing (DSX)
