Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze supplier spend and capacity and develop supplier negotiation/engagement strategies, including sustainable cost controls and cost reduction improvement plans.
  • •Ensure work centers build on time and that lineside health meets specifications aligned to the MRP demand plan, with ownership of work center material health.
  • •Manage production process or design change cut-ins and solve problems to recover from late-breaking changes, shortages, and inventory demand-supply issues.
  • •Negotiate high-value supplier contracts, interpret fiscal/legal implications, advise management on significant contract procedures/regulations, and act as liaison on contractual agreements.
  • •Develop commodity strategies (e.g., sheet metal, raw materials, machined parts, hardware) cradle-to-grave; mitigate single-source risk, update leadership on critical supply issues, and maintain supplier relationships.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced degree with 3+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material/production planning, operations/supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
  • •Experience with purchasing and procurement activities, including production process and design change cut-ins.
  • •Strong contract negotiation experience, including understanding contractual terminology, pricing, scope, and terms.
  • •Ability to analyze supplier spend/capacity and develop supplier engagement and negotiation strategies.
  • •Knowledge of MRP/material planning and the ability to execute RFQs/PO placements and resolve purchase order/invoice discrepancies.
