Job Summary

Provide primary commercial legal support for Visa’s Commercial Legal portfolio across India & South Asia. Advise business teams on commercial transactions, strategic initiatives, and client-facing matters, including drafting and negotiating complex agreements (incentives, client, sponsorship, partnerships, marketing, and product-related). Serve as a trusted strategic advisor, manage contractual risk allocation and negotiation strategy, support growth and compliance in a highly regulated environment, and partner with regional/global legal teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide legal advice and support to business teams on commercial transactions, strategic initiatives, and client-facing matters.
•Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to India & South Asia business teams.
•Draft, negotiate, and drive to completion complex commercial, marketing, sponsorship, technology, and strategic partnership agreements.
•Advise on commercial structures and contractual risk allocation, liability positions, indemnity frameworks, and negotiation strategy.
•Support issuer, acquirer, merchant, fintech, and strategic partner relationships, including cross-border matters and contracting process improvements.

Key Requirements

•Qualified to practice law in India.
•Approximately 8–14 years post-qualification legal experience for a Senior Manager role or 5–8 years for a Manager role.
•Strong corporate and commercial law experience from a top-tier law firm or multinational organization.
•Demonstrated experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial transactions.
•Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, analytical skills, and strong business judgment with the ability to influence stakeholders.
