Job Summary

Lead the design and development of a scalable, highly available booking platform within HSBC’s Equities & X Asset Fin Tech group. Drive architectural decisions, collaborate with front-office trading and product teams for rapid delivery, ensure regulatory and risk/compliance alignment, mentor junior engineers, and provide production support as part of DevOps, shaping the future-state architecture and platform strategy.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build a scalable and highly available booking platform.
•Contribute and make strategic decisions that affect the design and architecture of this platform.
•Work closely with the front-office trading and product teams to ensure fast and accurate delivery of new functionality and improvements.
•Liaise with local compliance, NFR and other risk/control teams to ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines.
•Maintain continuous communication with the wider global team: collaborative development, reviews and strategic decision making.

Key Requirements

•Strong hands-on Java development experience (Java, Linux)
•Experience with microservices frameworks and open-source technologies (Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud)
•Hands-on application design and development, with Cloud Platform experience preferred
•Strong Agile/DevOps mindset and ability to work with global stakeholders
•Ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate with product owners and architects
